  Did you lose respect for your parents because of the JW / Watchtower crap ?

  this is probaly one of my biggest problems i dealt with growing up in the jw crap.. it's no fun growing up alone.. i am sorry, but i hated my parents (probaly from the time i was 13), i know that is mean and a terrible thing to say, but that's how i felt.

  i had no respect for them growing up in the borg.

  they taught me nothing about ................. having a relationship/dating.

  great comments teenyuck, you used that "hates" word alot, brings up the question (I asked on another thread), when does the Watchtower become more important than family. How sad ........

  Minimus, sexual and physical abuse I never experienced, but is MENTAL abuse any better or even worse. I think all of us went through that with parents. Constantly putting us down and telling us "You will NEVER make it if you leave Jehovah's Organization!", aaaaaaaaauuuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhh how many times I heard that one.

  I ask him the "hard-hitting" questions, and listen to his voice change.

  thats funny !!!!!!!!

  I often tackle him with important questions just to see what he will say... my next one will be... Would you sacrifice me again for this organization, knowing what you know now? I'll let you know.

  I would get mad at my unbelieving dad for not putting his foot down sooner.

  unbeliever, so true, why is it the dad SEEMS (not always) lets the mother decide on religious issues and not listen to the child.

  The problem is that my mother is and was the biggest hypocrite in the world, bar none. She never even pretended to live up to the standards that she expected of us.

  freein89 mine too, always made sure we went to the meetings, while she stayed home, always sick and didn't feel up to going out, yeah whatever.

  When I stopped expecting miracles from them and just accepted what they felt they could give, I got better. They really bent the "rules" a lot, and I realize that makes them the parental exceptions on this board, but they really did try to do right by me and still do.

  Now I pity them, and their decisions that have created the horrible sensation of a wasted life.

  there was thunder, lightning, pouring rain and wind.

  personally i love stormy nights, cuddled up to hubby in a warm bed.

  Convention Report

  i just got back from my convention yesterday evening.

  i'll be trying to catch up on the posts as time allows, but there is a very large volume; so if i miss any personal replies, please forgive me.. this was my first convention since i became mentally free, and it was just painful to sit through.

  i used to be one of those dubs who actually enjoyed conventions.

  Are Jw's that important?

  sunday's talk on avoiding satan's snares brought out an interesting point that the human government's very soon will be turning all their military and political might on god's people here on earth, because of the fact jehovah's witnesses would be perceived as such a dangerous threat to the governments of the world because of their christian neutrality.

  which begs the question.....when the hell were the witnesses ever a dangerous threat to anything besides logic?

  they really are so freaking full of themselves.

  How are 6 million pacifists a threat to world security

  so well said.

  They do flatter themselves don't they.

  And what about countries where there is so few witnesses, let's say China, Muslim countries, Middle east, many parts of Africa.

  Do they really think the governments there give a damn.

  Just another "SCARE" tactic to build everyone up ........... again !!!!!!!

  50 years from now ! What will the Watchtower say about the 1990's 2000's ?

  if russell , rutherford and even knorr's work is considered misinterpeted, or overzealous, or they didn't have a complete understanding of the scriptures (even though they were of the annoited class).

  can or will the same be said 50 years from now about today's publications.. this really intrigues me, i love reading the history of the watchtower and looking back at some of the beliefs and predictions.

  i really appreciate the 1975 stuff more today then ever.

  Can or will the same be said 50 years from now about today's publications.

  This really intrigues me, I love reading the history of the Watchtower and looking back at some of the beliefs and predictions. I really appreciate the 1975 stuff more today then ever. Because they look so stupid for saying what they said. And they said so much in so many publications. Of course never said 1975 but, sure led on to it.

  So, what will be said about the 1990's and 2000's publications fifty years from now ?????????

  What will be the "new light" on Armageddon is SOON ???

  And any other predictions you can think of.
